Rees, killed In a tragic accident early Saturday morning, died for a cause at surely, as any of tha heroes of tha wars have fallen for their country. ' Everyone who had ever contacted Patrolman Rees has been saddendd by his death and the circumstances surrounding the" crash. He had dealt with many, many motorists 'bathe line of "duty, extending to all tha courtesy and kindness that' .were a part of his nature. He had devoted many, many, hours of his own time to lecturing on safety, to appearing before school groups, to' talking to youngsters and oldsters about safety. He was always willing to walk the extra mile in an effort to make the highway safer. The untimely death of Patrolman Rees nails to. mind the Wonderful work the Highway Patrol, generally, does. Nowhere could be found a more pleasant, efficient and courteous group of men that staff the Highway Patrol in Davis County area. We extend our condolences to Patrolman Rees' family. Without such men as Trooper Rees, highways would be it would be difficult to assess even more dangerous the number of lives he may have saved. . Then there a storm is thi new assessment sewer fee ($80 per lot). This the contractor pays under protest and assures your city of. ficial long and loud that the city cannot take this way out and will be sued for collecting such a fee. Yet, why is he the injured party because he, in turn, charges this fee to you, Mr. Citizen How can Mr. Contractor bring a damage suit against Mr. Citizen for return of a fee paid by Mr. Citizen? And why should Mr. Citizen object to an assessment which insures his future health and welfare? Let us, Mr. Citizen, take a more constructive peek at the staggering costs of building a home. possibly First, the land three thousand an acre. Divide by four, you get $730. Second, the outlandish requirement placed on Mr. Contractor by city, and public health authorities state laws in a word, the off site improvements such as sewer, water, streets, curbs and sidewalks, cost approximately 1600 per lot. Cost of the lot then is approximately $2400. Mr. Contractor builds a house of said lot. He may clear $300, if lucky. Mr. Realtor sells you the home. He charges as much for selling the item as poor old Mr. Contractor made with three months of hard labor. Now, then, lets consider the real menace to Mr. Citizens chances of obtaining a home, "Mr. Money Lender. , ... previous actions of tha AMA."
