He was born June G, 1871 in Wilkes County, North Carolina. His parents were converts to the LDS Church and while they were living in the South, his family hid many a Mormon missionary from the mobs set on persecuting them, Mr Nance recalls. When he was 14, he moved west with his family, first settling in Colorado and then later moving on to Kaysville. : In Utah he met and married Minnie Elizabeth Nichols and to them were born six children. The only two living are Mr. Leone Gardner and Mrs. Wayne (Alice) Eatchel, both of Kaysville. A daughter-in-laMrs. Russell (Mary) Nance and her family live in Morgan.
