He had resided in Davis County all his life. He was born on March 13, 1878 in Kaysville, a son of William D. and Virginia McMaster Major. Mr. Major was a farmer and stock raiser and had been an active member of the L.D.S. church. At the time of his death, he was a member of the Layton Second ward; and waa also a member of the Layton stake High Priest Quorum. He had been active in other organizations, including various Davis County farm groups, He was married to Martha Carr Simmons June 5, J!()l, in the Salt I .ake L. L. S. temple. Mrs. Major died April 2l, 1144, in Layton. Survivors include the following sons and daughters: Ural A. Major, of Magna, Utah; Elmer D. R. Major, William Major, Major, and Mrs. George O.
