Anderson Finance Chairman Layton The finance drive for the Gateway District of the Boy Scouts is now under way. As in past years the job of Finance Chairman has been assigned to me to get sufficient funds to carry on this Boy Scout work. The first phase of this drive will be to contact the sustaining members and the merchants and business firms. This has always been an active part of the campaign. So when this committee calls on you remember they are giving of their finances and their time for this good cause. Show them they are welcome and their efforts are appreciated by giving your support. With the increased membership in Boy Scouts aid Cub Packs this year, we are facing our biggest job in Scouting. It is going to take the combined effort of every one to carry on this work successfully. Invest in the life of a boy. Telephone Equipment The telephone company installed all the electrical equipment at thej resort as well as five direct tele- -' phone lines from Lagoon to the NBC Station in New York. These! were open all during the 3o minute broadcast on Sunday. Four expert television cameramen were) assigned to the project by KTVT as well as a large crew of technicians. Rehearsals were begun by an orchestra in New York to provide the accompaniment for tfe dancers who held rehearsals both at the Tanner Studios in Salt Lake and at Lagoon. Besides all these, several writers, choreographers, composers, producers and directors were involved in fabulous project of building a production that told the world a little of what we have here in Davis County. In the final broacast Miss Tanner gave the commentary from Lagoon where the dancer, were photographed as they performed to the accompaniment of the orchestra stationed in the NBC studios in New York. Two Rehearsals Rehearsals of the program had to be broadcast to the NBC offices twice before the final live production on Sunday. Each of these broadcasts were made at a cost of 13,000. However, the sponsors and producers have, since Sunday, expressed the opinion that te the cost of the sequence was well worth the price.
