A group of friends of Mrs. Robert Hepworth of Bountiful entertained in her honor at a miscella neous shower, Saturday evening, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. I. Barkdull. Mrs. Hepworth, a recent bride, was formerly Miss Florence Barkdull. The evening was spent playing Chinese checkers and lunch eon was served to 25 guests. Mrs. Earl Spencer has returned from a two weeks' trip to Cali fornia. Lawrence Miller entertained eight couples at his home Saturday eve ning in compliment to Udell Pace and Miss Doris Griffith, who are to be married in the near future. The group presented the young couple with an electric mixer. Mrs. Joseph Boells and small daughter, Beth,Ann of Provo, are guests this week at the home of Mrs. Boella mother, Mrs. Amapda Richards. Miss Minnie Millard and Miss Mary Millard were hostesses to their club Saturday evening at their home. Followingdinner, the guests played Five Hundred. Prize winners were George H. Manning and Lloyd Hess. Mrs. Henry Mills, who recently spent several days visiting Mr. and Mrs. Dell Thomley and children in Salt Lake City, has returned to her home. Mrs. Thomley was formerly Miss Thelma Barkdull. Bishop John R. Walsh has been confined to his home for several days because of illness. At the regular Relief Society session Tuesday afternoon, Mrs. Lola Barnett gave the theology lesson. Part of the time was devoted to testimonials given by organization members. The new occupants of the Esther Clark home are Mr. and Mrs. Otis Cheney and small daughter. Mrs. Cheney was formerly Miss Laura Preece. Miss Eleanor Farr and Jack Reynolds were Sunday guests at the home of Miss Emma Miller. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Steed entertained their club Friday evening. The ladies' prize was won by Mrs. Delbert Walker and the men's prize went to Joseph By bee. Miss Doris Griffith was an honored guest Thursday evening of the past week at a miscellaneous bridal shower given by Mrs. Ruth II. I i The M. I. A. Beehive classes gave an entertaining rprogram Sunday evening in the ward chapel. The theme was based on the three-yea- r Beehive course. Miss Edith Walsh, a stake leader, was the special speaker. Mrs. Clark Burnham entertained her bridge club Thursday. Mrs. George W. Buchanan returned late the past week from a k trip to California.
