TELEPHONES OdM, Ha II W. P. Epparoaa, No. 71 C. A. Epparaoa, No. 4w BAMBERGER RATES Several years ago, as the Salt Lake & Ogden railway, familarly known as Che Bamberger Electric," was being constructed, a rate was made to and 'from Salt Lake City as each station was reached. When the road was completed through to Ogden the rates which had been established continued in effect with little or no change. It was well known that the rates were not based on actual mileage traveled r ( but the management thought it better to let the rates stand rather than make an adjustment which would change moBt of the rates which had been in force for so long a time. When it bacame apparent that the State of Utah was to have a state util itiea commission the management of the road, realizing the fact that their passenger rates were not equitable, proceeded to establish the rates on a mileage basis, and the tariff now in force was the result. The new rate, as we understand it, is based on the to Ogden and vice versa. through-rat- e In almost every instance the round-tri- p fare has been adtfcnced but it at least has the virtue of being arrived at on a perfectly fair basis, but as is usually the case, an absolutely fair deal is not what the people want after they get it, specially when it costs more. In making the new rates the management of the road was merely equalizing the rate in anticipation of the requirements of the proposed state utilities commission. And now comes the Bamberger Electric with a measure which cannot fail to please the patrons of the road, excurnamely, Sunday and week-en- d sion rates between all stations on the system, and as a matter of fact these excursion rates are based on the mileage basis, the same as the new fare. The week-en- d excursion tickets wil be on sale at all the offices of the company on Saturday and Sunday o: each week, and the fare for the round d of the trip will be one and regular fare. These tickets are goo for return passage as late as the fol lowing Monday after date of sale. The fare to Salt Lake City and return on this ticket wil Ibe 75 cents and to Ogden and return 60 cents. The Sunday excursion ticket, good for return pnly on date of sale, will be sold for one fare for the round trip The fare to Salt Lake City and- return' on this ticket will be 55 cents and to Ogden and return 40 cents. Ilalf Rates on the Bamberger On and after Sunday, January IS, 1917, round-tri- p tickets will be sold to any station on the Bamberger Electric for one fare for the round trip Tickets must be presented for passage both going and coming on date of one-thir- - sale. Excursions Bamberger Week-En- d Effective on Saturday, January 18th and thereafter on each Saturday, week-en-d excursion tickets will be sole to all stations on the Bamberger Electric for one and d fare for the round trip.
