GREEN t Logan, Utah T t- - HJIPHUIWH- I s When Mothers came to rule as queens and princesses, in a( v.orld far and wide, mid a vale of tears, v. ith a cup of sorrow! running oer, the morning stars sang gladsome greeting and the sons of God shouted for joy around the cradle of the infant woild. God sent her to heal the wounded hearts and smile away . the tears. A'Mothers love is stronger than death. It rises superior toi adversity and towers in sublime beauty alwtve the selfishness of the world. Mother is both the evening and morning star of life. The light of her eye is always the first to rise and often the last to set upon manr day of trial. A Mother's affection and her tremendous tenderness has held transgressors by the heart strings and been thejneans of Reading sinners back to virtue and 'God. BUSIHESS-MUM- M.ij Favorite iinx Heaven has imprinted in the Mothers face something beyond this world; something which claims kindred with the skies the angelic smile, the tender look, the waking watchful eye which keeps its fond vigil over her slumbering babe. And he who can enter an apartment and behold the tender babe feeding on its mothers beauty, nourished by the tide of life which flows thru hef generous veins, without a panting bosom and a grateful eye, is no man but a monster. The Mother is the angel spirit of the home. Her tender yearning over the Cradle of her infant babe, her guardian care of Child, youth and age an dher bosom companion, the man of her love and choice. Her love glows in sympathy and reigns in all thoughts and deeds, it never cools, it never tires, never dreads, never sleeps, but ever glows with sweet and holy incense upon the altar of home and affection. To feel, to love, to suffer, to devote herself, will alw ays be the text of the life of a Mother. And woe to her who smiles not over a cradle and weeps not over a tomb. She has carelessly passed by one of the greatest pleasures of life and xnisse dthe greatest privilege of Heaven. Each babe is a new marvel ; a new miracle, and it is only a Mother that goes down to the valley of death to give life to the children of God. The highest gift was bestowed upon Mothers to bring forth the souls of man and lead them back to God from whence they caxne, and to whither they arc bound. When mother, the divinity of infancy mourns by the grave of her first born is a spectacle of woe in very deed. A mother watching the palpitating frame of her child as life ebbs slowly t, miist awaken the sympathy of away and bids the last the sternest. Her tears are the falling dew and Ler struggles are the storms that send her roots 'deeper. A mother's tears, are the showers that fertilize' the world. There is sacredness in ; a mothers tears. They are not narks of weakness.-Thespeak more eloquence than ten thousand tongues. They' are the message of grief, of unspeakable love. A motherjs tears tremble in her eyes when she is happy and glisten Jilce pearls and dew drops when in sorrow. But they are tender, holy and sanctifying tears; crystals of affection and pity; jewels of the soul. Oh, Mother, your tears ! What a mission have ye wrought in our sorrowing world, how tenderly worshipped on the altars of pity and sincere love . - And even when mother has gone to her last resting place, the sainted-mothein heaven sways a mightier influence over her wayward child or husband than when she was present. Her departed spirit still hovers over his affections, his path and draws him by unseen cord to herself in Heaven. When God looked to find the master piece of his own hand, he found a mother kneeling by the cradle of, an infant babe , in prayer. He found her with faith, patience, integrity, pity and devotion ; found Tier even as the meek eyed maiden of Heaven, is the Christ-Lik- e i Mother of Mine. . good-nigh- y-' over-whelmi- .
