Troop 279 Rudy Sanich, Scoutmaster of Troop 279, of the Good Shepherd Parish, Dragerton, held Court of Honor in the church hall Sunday evening, February 10, 1957. Hie court was especially favored in having Mr. Clyde Rock, assistant district commissioner of Boy Scouts, as official representative intrharge. After Presentation of Colors, Rev. Patrick J. Cullen, pastor, opened the court with prayer. Second Class award was given to Frank Franco. Merit badges for. hiking were the following: Mickey Charles Bonacci, Horst Colbom, Lynn Carlson, Mike Car-lin- i, Frank Oranco, Eugene Farlaino, Billy Jamieson, Bobby Murphy, Richard Maggio, Donald Montoya and Lester Quintana. An for cycling was given Sunny Madrid. A doubdle award for hiking and cycling was. given Levi Quintana. Service stars for one years service were awarded Jerry Murphy, Larry Valdez, Johnny Montoya and Melchor DoPorto. The final award wive out was a First Class award to Charles BonAr-ambu- la, a-w- ard acci. Mr. Rock then congratulated the boys for their achievements, urged them on to further awards and encouraged the mothers in the Parish who were contemplating the beginning of a group, of Cub Packs. Following this, Rev. Cullen spoke most earnestly of his deep personal appreciation for what the Scouts did this past year under their able leaders.
