This was revealed Monday in the labor organizations weekly political action newsletter, which said: Repeal of the law is still President Trumans No. 1 labor objective, according to the White House, but there still are not enough votes in the capital to carry it through at the coming session of congress. repeal was a main the presidents 1948 jor plank campaign platform. When the present congress met last January, Truman supporters and labor bosses proclaimed that the labor law would be off the books before the winter was over. But in the house, the one record vote on outright repeal was 37 to 275 against. The house then passed 217 .to 203 a labor bill reenacting most provisions, but the measure later was shelved by a 212 to 209 vote. The senate passed, 51 to 42, a bill drafted by Senator Robert A. of the Taft (R., O.), T-- H law which contained the present law with modifications. Among the most unfortunate of those whose automobiles skidded off the road and came to rest in the deep snow in the bar pit were Zeke Grider and Marvin Smith. As the two men were approaching Dragerton in Mr. Griders automobile about 6 oclock Christmas eve the car skidded, . spun around several times, overturned and finally came to rest in an upright position. The top of the automobile, a 1947 Dodge, was severely crushed and the fenders damaged considerably. The occupants of the car suffered eyily minor injuries, however. Mr. Grider says he lost control of the automobile when he was blinded by the lights of an approaching car. Results of several positions as far as most of the Utah locals are concerned are still in doubt There appears to be no clarification of the issue before the first of the year. Many Utah locals have stated that they will refuse to send In the per capita dues to the higher units. If no action is taken by Jhe international it would appear that the Utah locals and possibly some of the Wyoming locals will not be honoring the new District 22 officials.
