Show S, a Darrin Tingey goes in for le a by Heath Johnson. :e North Rich Wins Super Quiz to K by Judy Floyd y iy The Norht Rich High School Team of six students went to Coalville November 30, to compete against all of the other schools in the northeast region. The competition consisted of a series of seven tests that took a day to complete. One of the tests, called the Super Quiz addressed the topic of the Olympic Games. The North Rich Team scored more points than any other team, came in first place and as a result was awarded a metal. The team members are: Jennifer Fasy, Kbi Juefner, Kelly Mills, Scott Wamsely, Bob Anderson, and Wayne Farley. They received several individual awards as well as winning the Super Quiz. Jennifer Fasy placed first in the Honor category on the Social Science and History test. Kib Jeufner placed second in the Honor category on the Science test. Kelly Mills placed third in the Scholastic category on the Fine Arts test and first on the Social Science and History test. Mt. View was able to hold off the Trojans for a 68-6-5 hard-fougvictory. Coach Johnson felt his trojans played hard but committed some key turnovers and did not shoot as well as he hoped they would. The Trojans were 17 for 31 from the foul line and were led in scoring by Gordon Tate with 18; Chad Peart with 14; krehl Brown with 13; and Shawn 8; d Coach Ralph Johnson brought his Trojans to the friendly confines of Trojan Gym for their opening home game against Ron Moores Mountain 0-- 2 View Buffalos. The game began with contrasting South Rich playing a defense and Mt. strong View in a tough zone defense. The Trojan offense this year is a fast break type game with Coach Johnsons players moving the ball quickly into forecourt with hopes of an easy basket. Mt. View played a slower more deliberate offense and showed some outstanding perimeter shooting from Lonnie Meeks and John Pitts and moved to a 12-- first quarter score. The second quarter proved to be a real battle as the Trojans saw some excellent play from Gordon Tate and Shawn Buckley. The Buffalos were able to maintain their lead and were out in fron 29-2at halftime. The third quarter was filled with outstanding paly from both teams. With one minute left, the Trojans tied styles of play man-to-ma- n 8 4 8 ht Buckley with 9. Mt.
