The following were voted officers by acclamation: Pres., Carma Noble, Vice Pres., Hazel Gardonier; Sec., Donna Last, Publicity, Shirley Last. Plans for the future Improvement of Hurricane were given by Carina Noble. These plans include the planting of trees along the highway leading to and from Hurricane and a general clean up of the city. Also plans were made for a fun raising event to take place in the near future, and to enter a club display for the county fair and a float in the parade. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Stratton traveled to Salt Lake City with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Church and family to meet their son, Alden and family from Grass Valley, Calif. Also to visit another son, Byron and daughter. Glenna in Ogden. The Church family went on to Yellowstone Park. Then the Arthur Strattons went camping with son Alden. They visited all the parks and went fishing. They visited a sister of Arthurs Mary Sawyer ia Hatch. After arriving home they were joined by other family members in a cook out before the Alden Strattons returned home. Mike Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Johnson is now in Alaska, working as a dude ranch hand for the Bud Branhams. He reports that he is enjoying the hunting trips. Linda Jensen and Mama Lemmon spent the week end at home with their parents, from their work in Las Vegas. Other visitors at the Nathaniel Lemmon home are Mr. and Mrs. Angus Allred and son, Tom from Salt Lake and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Allred of Lovell, Wyo., and a sister Vera Brinkerhoff. Burr Bradshaw has purchased the home formerly owned by Josephine Ferrell. The new bishopric for the South ward are: Gordon Stirland, bishop; Flint Wright, 1st counselor; Dr. Garth Last, 2nd counselor; Ersel Hall, ward clerk. In the North ward sacrament meeting Sunday, Aug. 11 Nick Scholzen, state FFA Pres., reported on his trip to Europe and the Communist countries.
