Mrs. Stephens served 12 years as Tooele County Cancer Chairman, as well as holding offices in the Jaycee auxiliary and Womens Club. Both were active in the Democratic party on the local, state and national levels. After leaving Toooele, they spent 12 years in Anaconda, Montana, where Mrs. Stephens served in several civic activities. In 1968 the couple was transferred to Tucson, Arizona where they now live. After his retirement from the Anaconda Company, Mr. Stephens worked at Mountain States Research and Development and still serves as a consultant to them. The Stephens have two daughters, both of whom were born in Tooele, and five grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. John A. Stephens, former Tooeleans, and now living in Tucson, Arizona were honored at a buffet reception at the Paulos Restaurant on Saturday, April 7, to mark their fiftieth year of marriage. The affair was hosted by their daughters, Patricia Graham, of Tucscon, and Roberta Wasson, of Show Low, Az. Mr. Joseph Stephens of Tooele flew down to attend the party. Mr. Stephens was born and raised in Tooele and a University of Utah graduate in metallurgical engineering. He married Helen E. Love You I 7s Video America April 24, 1984 in Grantsville.
