David served as one of their missionaries in Fiji. They drove through the interior of the island, passing many large sugarcane fields, pineapple fields, and banana plantations, as well as seeing the many varieties of flowers. Mark Carlisle, of Crantsville, was injured while riding in the bareback competition at the Bingham High School rodeo in Riverton. Mark suffered a break in his upper leg. He was taken to Alta View Hospital in Sandy where he developed other complications. He is awaiting surgery as soon as his condition permits. Mark is the son of Blaine and the late Irene Carlisle of Crantsville. They shopped at the Polynesian Cultural Center, the International Market Place, the Ala Moana Mall, reported to be the largest in the world, the many sidewalk shops and the A.B.C. Discount stores. They were welcomed home at the Salt Lake Airport by family members, waving large welcome home placards. The vacationers were tired but happy, wearing some Hawaiian sunshine and the traditional flower leis.
