Johnson received the Silver Beaver the highest regional award given by the Boy Scouts of America organization in a ceremony Wednesday night. Johnson and 29 other leaders received the award from the Great Salt Lake Council for distinguished service to boyhood by registered scooters, Cubbers and Explorer leaders. An adult scouter for the past 20 years, Johnson served for eight years as the Cub Committee member and later as a Cub Master for three years. He also served as a scout master for two tary Community Club starting at 7:30 a.m. There will also be entertainment provided by the Jordan School Intermediate Cultural Group. Pastor Davis, a native of Burke County, Georgia, is a Salt Lake Board member of the City NAACP, a member of the Utah Governors Black Policy Council and a member of the Utah State Board of Corrections.
