The. problem of not placing 1965 on any but the new sandwich coins arose from the coin shortage and legislation passed in 1964 stating that coins would lie inscrilied with the figure 1964 in lieu of the year of the coinage" until the Secretaryof the Treasury determined that adequate sitpjilies of coins were available. This was superceded and repealed in the 1965 silver legislation which was by Sen. Bennett. The Utah lawmaker was assured by the Treasury that figures and in any new coin shortage. With the coin shortage rapidly easing and the vast production capability of the U.S. Mint," Sen. Bennett said, it is highly pos- sible, even probable that sometime in 1966, the date again will be changed to reflect the current year. Back in 1820, one American farmer could produce enough food and fiber for four people. Expresses Thanks Percy Osife INCOME A g Department of Fish and Came personnel are now conducting the annual post season pheasant sex ratio counts, These counts are conducted in January each year to determine the number of cocks per hen or sex ratio of the pheasants after the hunting season. A ratio of 1 male for 10 females is considered adequate for breeding populations in the spring. However, prior years surveys have not revealed this wide of a spread in the sex ratio. After the 1964 hunt, the statewide ratio was 1 cock per 3.46 hens. The greatest spread was one male per 5.66 hens.
