Tooele McFarland Allens Foodtown & Tooele Branch Arthritis Foundation 251 Fairland Drive Tooele, Utah Hullinger Hood Drug THE ARTHRITIS FOUNDATION Hello Again: The Tooele Branch of the Arthritis Foundation is happy to announce we now have our own Arthritis Therapy Center in Tooele County. This has been our goal since we became a local branch last April. Knowing that 70 of all cases can be prevented from crippling if caught early enough, we felt we should try to educate the public to this bet and help them get early treatment. We have been working under the direction of the State Arthritis Foundation, and medical people of the University Rehabilitation Center, who have made great strides in the past few years in physical therapy for arthritis victims. Tooele County arthritis patients can now go to a local doctor of their choosing for the medical treatment and diagnosis. If the doctor feels they can b helped or relieved with physical therapy, he will refer them to our physical therapist, Mr. Jess Peck, who is familiar with the latest therapy tor arthritis. This may take one v isit wherein he can teach the take patient therapy to be done at home; or, it may several visits which may require use of therapy equip ment in his office. . top? The patient will not have to go to the University Rehabilitation Center unless the case is complicated and needs special diagnosis or treatment. This we feel is a great help as many arthritis patients are unable to get to Salt Lake Citv. In checking with our Tooele County Public Welfare Department, we are informed that those people who are receiving public welfare at the present time are eligible for assistance with the Therapy Program. Those who are not receiving welfare are not eligible. May we again urge those who feel they might have arthritis to check with their loctor for early diagnosis, that they might be spared the painful crippling of arthritis. If you have questions pertaining to our Therapy Center or about arthritis in general, feel free to call 882-218- 9 and we will try to help you.
