Recent resignations have created vacancies on two of the state's five wildlife Regional Advisorv Councils (RACs). RAC members represent one of six interest groups: sportsmen: agriculture: non-- , consumptive wildlife: public officials; federal land agencies: and the public at large. Vacancies currently exist on the central and southeastern RACs. The central region needs an representative; the southeastern region needs a nonconsumptive replocally-electe- d e resentative. To be considered for a vacancy, candidates mus.t live in the region of the state they wish to represent. Potential candidates should contact an .appropriate group they wish to represent and request to be nominated. For example, to fill a nonconsumptive vacancy, a person must contact a Utah nonconsumptive wildlife group, such as the Audubon Council or Sierra Club. Potential nominees should contact the appropriate Division of Wildlife Resources regional office for information on nomination deadlines. RAC nomination forms may be downloaded from the DWR Web site ( w w vv . w i 1 d 1 i fe u t a h g o v ) . . . . Click on "BoardRACs, then 'Documents Nomination forms may also be obtained at anv DWR office. Completed nomination forms must be or mailed directly to the Board RAC coordinator in the DWR's Salt Lake City office. Mailing information is found on the nomination form. The five RACs each hold about 10 meetings a year to listen to wildlife management proposals from the DWR and take grassroots public input about the proposals. Meetings generally last three to five hours in the evening, typically on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. RACs vote on the proposals, then report their findings and recommenr dations to the Utah Wildlife Board, which sets policy for the DWR. RAC members are conseven-membe- sidered volunteers and are eligible to be reimbursed for actual meeting attendance expenditures. Overnight travel is rarely required. Successful candidates will complete the terms of resigning members or serve full, r terms. For information about wildlife or conservation groups in your area, contact the nearest Division of Wildlife Resources four-yea- 96 South Main, Nephi office. All RAC nominees go through a standardized sift ing and interview process before being ranked and submitted to the executive director of the Department of Natural Resources. The executive director, in consultation with the director of the DWR. makes appointments from the top five candidates. For more information, contact Steve Phillips. A closed fire season requires that any open burning be done after first securing a permit. Permits are available from county fire wardens, county fire chiefs, county sheriffs offices and through offices of the Division of Forestry. Fire and State Lands. A closed fire season proclamation is routine this time of year, explained State Forester Joel Frandsen. As vegetation continues to dry out the chance of fire spreading increases so it's appropriate we take this action at this time. This statement many times gets lost as we read the chapter and absorb what is going on in the portion of Scripture. Maybe we just dont want to understand a simple example and command. This statement shows that whatever was of Jesus coming to earth is also required required of us. This includes the manner, mission, purpose, sacrifice, motivation, and character of His coming. God gave us the we are to go into the example as to the world. God gave us the example, and Jesus gave us the command. We are sent as He was sent. We are to go in love toward others. We are to take the message of Gods love and what Jesus (God in the flesh-Joh1:11) did for us to the world. Our purpose is the same as God's purpose and Christs purpose. This is a statement we should regard seriously and contemplate completely. How do we adjust our lives to be able to be in complete compliance to this command from our Lord? This first thing we need to do is accept Christ alone by faith alone and be saved. Until we are one of His children this mandate does not apply. Second, we need to spend time with the Lord: reading our Bible, praying, attending a good Bible teaching Bible preaching church where we can better understand and be encouraged in what God would have us to do. God never requires us to do something without first equipping us to do it. Its up to us to obey by going. i Call Allan Today at 623-052- 5.
