Mrs. Sanders selected to receive award from State Farm Deborah Sanders who teaches 7th grade Science and 8th grade Elective Science at the 7th & 8th Grade Center was selected to receive a check for $100 to help with the many learning activities she puts to use in her classroom. She believes that learning should go beyond the book, paper and pencils. Science needs a lot of hands on activities, said Mrs. Sanders. The awards program is sponsored through the UEA Children at Risk Foundation with the cosponsorship of State Farm Insurance and the Utah Jazz. The award was presented by Dave Lambertsen, State Farm Agent. 5 double-heade- Best Choir of Region XIV. The group qualified for the State Festival, which will be held in May. JHS JV baseball loses to Juan Diego The Juab High School JV Baseball team lost to the Juan Diego JV Tyler Olsen pitched a good game. Rex Memmott stole several bases and Kolby Ence hit one to the fence, but in the end we needed more than 3 innings of daylight. Next, Juab JV took on South Summit JV and Juab . beat them Brett Hansen and Kevin Greenhalgh pitched a great game with Kolby Ence finishing. The team had several stolen bases. Kellen Neilson and Trevor Jones led the team with extra base hits. 2-- 15-3- Juab High School Drama students took first place in all six categories in the Region Drama competition held on t play Saturday. Juabs won first place also. Pantomime: 1st place, Jason Shook; 2nd place, Greg Baird. Greg McCoy, Katie West, Becky Stubbs, Candle Jessop also competed. Humorous Interpretation: 1st place, Spencer Banks; 2nd place tie. Travis Warner and Brittany Webb; 3rd place Shandy Johnson. Rovce Orme and Natalie Knowlton also competed. Local students do well at the Central Utah Regional History Fair The Central Utah Regional History Fair was held April 4 at Snow College. Students theme Rights and Responsibilities in History. They looked at issues such as the right to bear arms, responsibilities of ATV users, grazing rights, and water rights. Students competed according to their age group in four different categories: historical papers, exhibits, performances, from Juab and Sanpete counties in grades 2 presented history research projects, competing for the opportunity to advance to the state contest. Winners were announced at an awards ceremony at the close of the day.
