Eyre Sr. in Nephi v V Donald Jones Eyre, Sr., age 82, passed away Feb. 7, 2003 in Provo, Utah, from complications following heart surgery. He was born June 21, 1920 to James Alma and v Hazel Leona Jones Eyre in J Adamsville, Utah. He mar-- ' ried VVinagene Church Sept. 9, 1948 in the Salt Lake LDS I Temple. He attended elementary J school in a one room school I in Adamsville and graduated J from Beaver High School. He v attended Utah State Univer-- sity for one year and joined the Army and served from ' 1941 until 1946 and was a member of the reserves from ; 1946 to 1953. He served in North Africa, Sicily and Italy i during WWII and attained , the rank of First Lieutenant. He graduated from the University of Utah in 1949. He owned and operated retail . and wholesale petroleum businesses in Juab, Sanpete and southern Utah Counties for 40 years. Active in local government in Nephi, he served as a city councilman and was mayor from 1974 to 1978 and was on the hospital board and planning and zoning commissions. Through membership in the Lions Club he helped with many civic service projects and enjoyed the fellowship of social activities with the club. In his retirement years he was proud of his vegetable gardens and loved to play golf and meet with his buddies at the local gathering places and attended activities when his He is survived by his wife and six children, Donald J.
