This year, we saw a mixed schedule, (Block 2 days per week) as an opportunity to find out for ourselves how the block worked as compared to regular schedule. Are we learning? Yes, we are learning a tremendous amount not only about the block but also about how kids learn. Have we decided what we are going to do next year? No, not yet. That will be a major topic of discussion during rience from 12 n. to 5 p.m. ly, designed to help kids recoup credits and remain current on graduation requirements. We are currently seeking an individual to supervise that program. This is another opportunity for interested community members to participate with the school. This cmiauutfj with a iotof community pride, and as a result, a lot of pride jarat in the schools. We at Juab High School are working hard to make Juab High School one of the best places in the world to receive a well rounded high school education. Some people scofT when I say best in the world, but no one as yet has been able to tell me why not. Many of our scores recently indicate that we are moving in that direction in at least some aspects, but there are a wide variety of factors that are not reflected in those scores. We try to be aware of those also, and we appreciate the community support we receive as we attempt to prepare our young men and women to compete in the world of the next December and January, and members of the community are Carols Christmas Open House Boutique 655 South 1 00 East Nephi NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Notice is hereby given that a hearing will be held at 7 p.m, December 8, 1999, in the Meeting Room of the East Friday,-- December 3rd Saturday - December 4th Conser- comment on the proposed 2000 East Juab County Water Conservancy District budget, and to take public comment on the proposed amendments to the 1999 budget. There has been some discussion on the mixed block schedule that' was incorporated this year. Nationally, there has been much discussion on what has become known as the block. At its root, the block is simply a period of time longer than a normal period of time, and is used because many opportunities for understanding cannot be accomplished in the traditional 50 minutes of class time. When we think about it, few of us work in 50 to up to 15,000 high schools, colleges, universities and public libraries throughout the country. vancy District to take public .
