A Notice of Intent (NOI) was published in the Federal Register Sept. 29, 1999. The NOI contains the proposed action and the formal comment period will end Nov. 30, 1999. In connection with this publication, the Analysis of the M&nagement Situation (AMS) was sent to those who have previously indicated an interest in this preliminary document. The AMS contains information identifying the need for change from the current Forest Plan. The NOI and the AMS is posted on the Internet at http: www.fs.fed.usr4uinta. Public meetings to discuss the planning process, time frames, and content of the AMS were held during the week of Oct. 1999. One additional public meeting will be held in Nephi, on Nov. 15, 1999. The format for the meeting will include a general , overview of the proposed action 0 from p.m. Small group discussions with attendees and agency representatives will be conducted from 7:30-9:0- 0 p.m. Nov. 15, 1999, in the Juab Coun-- 1 ty Commission Chambers, Room 101, 160 North Main, Nephi ,i guidelines, goals and objectives that seek to attain properly functioning conditions for all forest resources.
