Coach Raymond Nielsen is a 1972 graduate of Juab High School. While at Juab, he played and lettered in football, basketball, and baseball. He received second team honors for football his senior year. While a junior he served as class president and was then elected to serve as student body president his senior year. Upon graduation from JHS, Coach Nielsen attended Dixie College and BYU where he graduated in 1979. He also served an LDS Church mission to England from 1974 to 1976. He came back to Juab School District in 1985 as a 6th grade teacher and began his coaching career that year assisting Tony Sperry in boys basketball. Since 1985 he has coached boys and girls basketball teams, football, tednis, and baseball. He began coaching baseball as an assistant to Alan Sperry in 1989, the same year the wasps took 2nd place at State. The following year Nielsen took over as head coach when Coach Sperry retired from baseball.
