I was the first officer to arrive after an elderly woman living at a house at 200 East and 300 North reported either a human body or a scarecrow hanging from the tree. Davis was living at the same site in a travel trailer. The residents of the home, at the site, reported talking with Davis on Sunday at about 6 p.m., said Orme. They said he looked and sounded fine when he left their house. Davis lived in Mt. Pleasant for several years, said Orme. However, his father was currently living in the Salt Lake City area and his mother was living in California. Both parents have been notified, said Orme and will come to Nephi to meet with us. He said police were hoping the parents could shed some light on the life of their son. There was no suicide note. Our investigation is just in the preliminary stages, said Orme. However, at this time, we are not certain if there is anything which exists ofAllens to make a match with. For example, he said, there needed to be some existing hair or a blood sample which could be used. If a medical facility had a sample of blood from Allen which was still in existence, it would be used. The state medical examiners office may have to try to use DNA from relatives of Allen to establish a positive or negative identification, he said.
