Grantsville had the experience the Wasps lacked as this was their third trip to the state finals. A combination of Cowboy Alan Mouritsens great rushing abili- ty and Juab turnovers gave Grantsville the edge and proved to be the downfall of the top-rank- ed Wasps. The first quarter was in stalemate as both teams drove their way up the field but neither could get a score. The Wasps caused a fumble to prevent a Cowboy touchdown, but they couldnt finish with a touchdown. Grantsville got on the board first scoring a touchdown off a 9 yard run in the second quarter. They converattempted a sion which was unsuccessful to make the score 0 for Grantsville. Juab answered back with a 7 yard pass from Josh Park to Brett Lovell for a touchdown. Casey Reynolds kicked the extra two-poi- nt 6-- 4 nt 4 Coach Messersmith commentcant turn the ball over to a team like Grantsville. This is a new experience for our team, and Im proud of them. They put the pressure on us and we threw the ball a little too much.. The Wasps had beaten Grantsville earlier in the season but the Cowboys were out for revenge. Although they were not able to attain the state title, this Juab team finished better than any other in the past. Their great season cant be overlooked and we are very proud of them. u ed, You peting Tuesday as they traveled to Manti for a tournament.
