He was born June 2, 1915, in Monroe, Utah, to George Roberton and Rhoda Beatrice Ruffell Jackson. He married Utah. He served four years during WWII as a 1st Sergeant in the Army. He served on the Ute Stampede Committee for 26 years and was a member of the Lions Club, serving in many positions. He always had a good team of work horses and enjoyed working with them.
