The Sundowners motorcycle club has rented the area for the three days of the Labor Day weekend for the last four years, says Mark Sensibaugh, local forest ranger, who attended a recent meeting of the commission. One of the reasons the commission objects to the rental is that the forest service closes the road through the campground. The commission questioned the legality of the road closure. tion. For example, students no longer can receive D or F letter grades. An F grade is a non grade. All students are expected to demonstrate mastery of learning at a 90 percent level. An 80 percent level will be given students who frequently take exams one to three days late. Tests only are to be given to students who are ready to take them, and their readiness will be determined by the teacher. In the past, said Wright, the district has allowed some devia-- ' tion from set policy, but that will no longer be the case. Teachers will tell students just what is to be learned and how students will be expected to demonstrate learning. Testing will be used to determine achievement, performance, the need for correctives, and the need for additional teaching. Students will be given an opportunity to be retested, but will only be retested on the part of the exam on which they did not do well. "' Students who are absent must take missed tests the first day they return to school. Students at school must take the exams within three days of the schedule time or they will be given incompletes. When a student gets an incomplete, parents will be notified. Arrangements should be made among the parents, students, and teachers regarding overdue tests and related work necessary to change an incomplete to a grade. The student must be accountable, said Wright. Students are responsible to learn the concepts and skills for the instructional unit and should use the time period following school to present eligibility materials and take late tests. There are no F grades. Students who have incompletes at the end of the reporting period will not receive credit for a class and will be given no grade, said Wright.
