Show 3:16, Acts 16:31). Goodbye and God bless FROM WHERE From Rev. Bagley and family I SIT testimony to us during our acquaintance, we want to share our testimony with you. We believe that Gods word, the Bible, is his inspired revelation of himself to man (II Timonthy 3:16) and that Jesus Christ is adequately reciprocated. We enjoyed our time in Nephi. none other than God manifested The schools were great for our in the flesh (I Timotny 3:16) who kids, the activities in which we came to earth to be our Savior got involved were uplifting to us (Luke 19:10). We have a primary election in the county next Tuesday, for a school board seat in District one, but not much in the way of campaigning has been done for that or other races. I guess either none of the canidates really care if they get elected, or they are just waiting for the last two weeks to make their splash. In either case, outside of the race for the President, and Senator Hatch calling the Democrats the party of Homosexuals, the fall election season could be very dull. The Levan weather city council had on the agenda for last nights council meeting Gas system investigations and development. Stay tuned for all the details but dont hold your breath. It was a year ago that the council started looking and its been very, very quiet since. If the council doesnt stop investigating and start dowe the citizens are going to be bypassed again. Hey guys ing ' either do it or get of the pot. Other matters discussed last night, according to the agenda, were the special service district, Juab County Pioneer Museum, Enterprise Zone designation, landfill operations, public power week proclamation and activities, hiring of a animal control officer, business licenses, burial permits and a executive session on personnel matters. A real cliff hanger of a meeting Ill bet. Governor Norman Bangerter has named September 8th as Utah Newspaper Literacy Day, and called for a greater awareness of the problem of illiteracy in Utah and accross the nation. In Utah, according to the declaration, the literacy rate is among the highest in the nation, but we still need to work on the ability of our citizens to read. On the national level studies show that 25 million adults are functionally illiterate, and that another 35 million are marginal. Thats about 13 of the adult population of the United States that cant or have trouble reading bus scheules, job applications, or a newspaper. 1 out of 4 Americans cant figure out if hisher paycheck is correct, and 1 in 5 cant address a letter. Literacy is important because the free exchange of ideas in a free country is best done in the free printed press. The boys at the TV networks do a good job of giving you the highlights of the news but only in print can ideas be discussed in detail. Read a newspaper on Thursday and incourage your children to read. If all of our citizens were more informed about the issues, the elections in the fall could be more than just a beauty contest. -- arg God bless you all.
