Show Federal spending in Utah was up $204 million in fiscal 1987 Federal spending in Utah climbed by $204 million, or 3.7 percent during the fiscal year ended Sept. 30, 1987, says the Utah Foundation. The research organization said most of this increase was due to the raise in social pay ments to individuals, up $1631 million, and to the raise in federal salaries and wages, up, $39 million last year.
