Those desiring to make the trip are asked to please notify Mrs. Kate Bowles not later than Saturday night, August 1. The local chapter will attempt to provide transportation for all honorary members desiring to attend the Blackhawk celebation. (Signed) Dr. P. L. Jones Captain It Nephi will be well represented at the Blackhawk Encampment and Cedar City Roundup next week with the Nephi chapter o ftbe Sens and Daughters of Utah Pioneers and Indian War veterans sending a special program for Wednesday afternoon, the Nephi nninl-clpband under the direction of Rank E Wanlass, and all dtixens of Nephi over the age of 75 years who desire to attend. The program on Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 at the Bowery Is being written and preesnted by LeRoy Whitehead and Is entitled "Telegraphing with Brigham Young and will be centered around the work of W. A. C. Bryan, private telegrapher to Brigham Young and the only survivor of 30 young men who had charge' of the Deseret Telegraph system which was In operation from I860 to 1879. Mr. Bryan Is also the sole survivor of the original group of Nephi pioneers and the only survivor of the Nephi bom Blackhawk Indian war veterans. The program will have as a pre lude the story of the coming of the saints to Utah and their progress in settlement throughout the state.
