Reclamation Bureau sets Nephi hearing on Central Utah Project fi 4 bi The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation will hold a public meeting in Nephi Thursday, June 7 to obtain public comment on the Central Utah Projects Bonneville unit irrigation and drainage system. The meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the Nephi City Hall. The public is invited to attend. The Bonneville units irrigation and drainage system would develop municipal, industrial, and irrigation water for the central Utah area. It would serve Juab, Millard, Sanpete, Sevier, Piute, Garfield, and southern Utah, counties. Water used in the system would be stored in Utah Lake and in the Mona, Sevier Bridge, and Piute reservoirs. Pumping plants, dikes on Utah Lake, and a system of tunnels, canals, and pipelines would be constructed. The system would deliver apof proximately 30,000 acre-fee- t irrigation water to Juab County. The water would be delivered through the proposed Mona-Nepcanal to farms in the Mona and Nephi areas. The system would also provide municipal water to county residents and 27,000 acre-feof industrial water for a proposed Juab County powerplant. According to Kirt Carpenter, hi et have asked each. No firm decision was made with regard to charging such a fee, which, if charged, would help offset the cost the town pays to hire a bulldozer to keep the dumping pits usable. In the meantime, signs warning users that the dump is only for Mona residents are to be put into place for better law enforcement. Mona residents are also asked to use the old dump site area for depositing trees and tree limbs, rather than filling the garbage dumping pit. y take a wary look at their new school Sarah Perkins, played by Barbara Ann Bronson, in a scene teacher, from Picture Her Plain. The certificate gives the company two years to complete environmental impact and financial feasibility studies, and then another year to commence construction. That means it will be two to three years before any possible start on the project could be made, says Andrews. Whether or not the company will actually deliver any natural gas to the North irrigation system half set to start 11 -- county service area depends on whether it can secure adequate financing for the venture. This problem has accumulated since 1982, says Joseph Bernini, commission chairman. He says if the hospital is helped now, it will probably be able to function with less financial assistance in the future, and the commissioners think it is unfair to saddle the present staff and administration with the bills. The commissioners have scheduled a budget hearing in two weeks to open the 1984 budget. County Alice Newton is looking at new, unbudgeted revenue to determine if $25,000 can be taken from that category. Another $20,000 may be taken from a fund set aside to purchase a fire truck for Levan. A used truck was recently purchased, and the $20,000 remains. $40,000 might also be transferred from the ending revenue sharing fund balance.
