Walt Morey is one who writes stories about the interaction of man and animal. His books seem to have wide appeal, but they have a particular attraction to boys. Somehow his ability to communicate the sensitive, sometimes trying side of what devotion on the part of both the pet and its master can include touches just the right spot. Probably his most widely known book to date is Scrub Dog of Alaska. This heartwarming story, set in the frozen north, is the story of a scrub who succeeds in a big way. Moreys newest book also concerns a dog, this time in a modern setting sniffing out narcotic offenders. It is called, curiously, The Lemon Meringue Dog. Also well known and very well received is "Gentle Ben, the story of a boy and a bear. Another excellent bear story, this one about a circus animal, is Gloomy Gus. Morey has also written several other ex- -' citing books. For stories that ; will, by their very nature, be an encouragement to young read-- , ers, this author comes highly . recommended. The bookmobile is at the, Mona Elementary School the. first and third Tuesdays of the r' month from 10 ajn. to noon, at the Nephi Elementary School the first and third Wednesdays of the month from 9 ajn. to 3:30 pan and at the Levan LDS ; Ward church the first and third , Wednesdays of the month from 4 pxn. to 5 pjn. f State Fair Queen Pageant David Frizzell & Shelly West Reba McEntire Tom T.
