Show Provo open house will honor Louise Francom, 95 Louise Francom, a former res ident of Levan, will b honored on her 95 th birthday anniver-'sar- y at an open house Sunday, Sept. 11. The event will be held at the Blaine Norton residence, 1712 North Fifth East in Provo, from 2 to 7 p.m. The public is invited to attend, but should bring no gifts. Mrs.. Francom was born in Levan Sept. 14, 1888 to Christian and Johanna Lundsteen. She married H. Ray Francom Feb. 26, 1911 in the Manti LDS Temple. He died Nov. 14, 1980. She attended Brigham Young University. She taught Primary and Junior Sunday School in the Levan LDS Ward, and was in the Levan Ward Relief Society presidency. She was a visit . ing teacher for 50 years. Grace Whittington Whitaker, 77, dies in California Grace Whittington Whitaker, 77, a former resident of Nephi, died of cancer Sept. 2 in Santa Rosa, Calif. Mrs. Whitaker was born Sept. 25, 1905 in Oxford, Iowa. She was a daughter of Elmer OBrien and Rosa Mae Loy Whittington. She was a graduate of Macalester College in Minnesota, and was a social worker. She was active in community and church affairs throughout her life. She married Charles Edward Whitaker Oct. 10, 1934. Survivors are her children: Mrs. Robert G. Wilkey died Aug. 31 at Mountain View Hospital in Payson. Burial was at the Vine Bluff Cemetery in Nephi. Wilkey was bom in Nephi July 4, 1896 to Gregory and Susannah Cooper Wilkey. He married Delta Carter Bird Dec. 20, 1934 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was educated in Nephi schools and was a veteran of World War I. He served as a commander of World War I veterans in Nephi. He was a farmer and raised turkeys, worked at Thermoid Rubber Company, and was a mason and plasterer. He was a high priest in the LDS Church. Survivors include his wife, of Payson; three sons and two daughters, James E. Bird of Logan, Mrs. Merle (Marjorie) Warren of Payson, Mrs. Carnell (Alta B.) Bettridge of Salt Lake City, David C. Bird of Moroni, and Edward Lloyd Wilkey Jr. of Benjamin; 28 grandchildren; and 46 tains, except the one on the corner by the old county building, will be replaced.
