Show At recent meeting Mona Town board mulls culinary water problems A review of Monas culinary water system by representatives of the State Board of Health was a matter of concern to the Mona Town Board at its most recent ses- sion. According to Mayor Everd Squire, some tests made of the Mona water over the past year have not met the minimum standards for purity. Because of this situation, Don Blake and Ken Harris of the State Board of Health joined, with Bruce Hall, local sanitarian, to make a personal inspection of the towns culinary system. Since the water tests made that day and a previously submitted test had proved okay, Squire was that some corrective action could be Mayor hopeful taken by the town to improve the state rating. Board members directed the mayor to submit a letter to the state asking permission to pursue local improvements before further action is asked of them from the state level. Wells and Clyde Ellert-so- n also met with the board on the subject of the town water. Since Monas water rating is in question, no home loans are being approved and the Ellertsons were told what action was being taken to remedy the problem. The Ellertsons also submitted a request that access land on the road near the eastern border of the town, be annexed. The Ellertsons were directed to make a survey of other land owners in the area and report back with more specific data at a later date. Board members were advised that an insurance settlement in the amount of $3,704 had been received from the owners desiring to have water meters installed on the taps must contact a member of the board before the next regularly scheduled board meeting on July 10. After that date, all other corral taps will be disconnected. Agreed to help the Mona Lions Club purchase materials for the stall adequate backing for a tennis court.
