A passenger in the car was Patricia Ann Seaward, also of Simi Valley. Mangelson says that the driver said he was forced off the road. The northbound car crossed the center line and the other traffic lane and went off the left side of the road, rolling twice. Sintic had cuts and lacerations. Seaward had back injuries. They S. Duane Sperry, 53, former sheriff Arvel Duane Sperry, 53, died June 15, 1980 in Salt Lake City. Sperry was born May 1, 1927 to Arvel and Eva Park Sperry. He married Alice Gae Denison Nov. 12, 1948 in the Manti LDS Temple. He was Juab County Sheriff for nine years, retiring in 1974. At the time of his death, he and his wife owned and operated Mother Natures Nursery in Nephi. Sperry was a veteran of World War II. He had been a member of the Nephi City Volunteer Fire Department, the Nephi City Council, and the Nephi Lions Club. He had served as a ward clerk, an elders quorum president, and president of the YMMIA in the LDS Church. Sperry was an avid sportsman, and had coached several teams. Survivors are his wife of Nephi; two daughters, Mrs. Nickie Ann Andreasen of Bloomington, Minnesota and Mrs. Sheryl Andersen of Mt. Pleasant; three sons, Alan Duane Sperry, Dan Arvel Sperry, and Tony Melvin Sperry, all of Nephi; ten grandchildren; his mother, Eva Tuttle, of Nephi; two brothers, Milton Sperry of Salt Lake City and Bruce Sperry of Orem; and two sisters, Joreen Carter of Mona and Suzanne Thomas of Ohio. Claude Tolley, 92, dies; services to be held Saturday Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 21 for Claude Murl Tolley, 92, who died June 17, 1980 in Delta. Friends may call at the Anderson Funeral Home on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday prior to the services. Tolley was born at Nephi March 7, 1888 to Charles W. and Melvina Christensen Tolley. He married Verlie Morris Oct. 30, 1913 at Nephi. The marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. Tolley was a member of the LDS Church. He retired in 1958 from the State Road Department. He had also worked for the Forest Service and for Nephi City. He helped to build the Nebo Loop at the time of his death. Also surviving are two brothers, Lorin Tolley of Palmdale, California and Rex Tolley of Nephi; and a sister, Sadie Harris of Grass Valley, California. Road. Survivors are his wife of Nephi. Also surviving are the following sons and daughters, Glen M. Tolley, Springville; Kenneth C. Tolley, Delta; Mrs. Ches (Margaret) Williams. Nephi; and Mrs. Clifton (Melba) Cazier, Salt Lake City.
