You certainly look a lot older. You, too, Annie dear, I wouldnt have recognized you except for the dress and hat. reg Folks using First South Street west of Main (the north sidewalk, that is) owe a sincere thanks to our neighbor, Bill Tunbridge, for the removal of a forest of growth that has developed during the favorable growing days this spring. Bill used a little extra of his sharpening skill to whet his lawnmower blade to and then plowed into the waist growth. Couple or three hours of work later, he had located the sidewalk, umteen beer bottles, a couple of dozen beverage cans, a ditch, and a small tree. Thanks sincerely, Bill, for your conscientious work. It surely brightens up the street. razor-sharpenes- s, In these days when usage of sidewalks is not nearly so grea tas a half century ago, weeds and crap on the sidewalks do not create such a big traffic problem, but they surely do put a blot on the clcan-u- p efforts. With the Stampede coming up soon, each of us should do a right good cleanup job in front and back of our premises, at least so friends and relatives can find our homes! -- reg- Some folks are so conservative (perhaps economical or stingy is a better word) that they wont read the newspaper because it might wear out their glasses! And then theres the guy that stops his clock at night to save wear and tear on it. reg wall a miniature sign says The best remedy for anger is delay . . well, from what we hear and one paper we were privileged to read, the delay has been sufficient and the anger was cooled, but NOW, the time is up, and the action is going to start. We have no idea of where the axe might fall, but it is our understanding that it (the axe) is in the air and its just going to light somewhere. On my office We havent heard of anyone beng sued (locally) because of injuries received when tripping over a car or other obstacle on the sidwalk, but even this can become a reality in our normally peace-lovin- g community!! reg the County level for the Democratic Party at the Primary elect- ion in September. The engineers at Western Electric, manufacturing and supply unit of the Bell System, have again decided that there is a better way! Way back, since jewelers in ancient Egypt, wire was been made by pulling or drawing. Now, the WE boys are creating wire by extrusion . . you know, like squeezing the tooth paste from the tube, or the cake icing from a unit And to top it off, theyre using a fluid, such as warm beeswax for the job! cake-decorati- No wonder many fishermen are confused.
