At the Spanish Fork Junior Livestock Show a team of Juab livestock judges won first place in the livestock judging contest. At this show the Mt. Nebo chapter placed second In dairy judging. At the Richfield show, Max Williams had the champion black Angus; Larry Ostler won a trophy for showmanship at the Delta Show; and Ron Dailey had the champion ewe at the Ephraim show and also In the FFA division of the Utah State Fair. Ron also won four National FFA Foundation Proficiency awards on the area level. They were in farm mechanics, livestock judging, soil and water management, and area star farmer. He also won the farm mechanics and star farmer on the state level. From the 9th to the 12th grades, Richard has been very active in the activities around the school. In the 9th grade Richard was president of the junior high and also lettered in wrestling. During the 10th grade he was a student council member, lettered in tennis, played J.V. baskeball, and was the second court to the preferred man. During the summer Richard was sent to Tacoma, Washington for a leadership conference. In the 11th grade he was vice president of the high school, and lettered in wrestling, tennis and football. He also participated in the operetta and graduated from three years of seminary. During his 12th year Richard had the honor of being president of the high school student body. He lettered in football, tennis and wrestling. He was captain of the wrestling and tennis teams. He also participated in the operetta. Christine Shaw also has been active in the school affairs throughout her senior high school years. In the 9th grade she was on the year book staff.
