Turkey hunting provides more recreation for the hunter than meat for the table, and judging from past turkey hunting experience, hunters will be required to use patience and skill if they are to be successful. Hunters out during the 1967 spring hunt scored a very good 22 per cent hunter success. Bag limit for this years spring hunt is two male turkeys. Being polygamous, 75 per cent of male turkeys are expendable. During this spring strutting season, the wary gobblers are most vulnerable to the hunter. The spring season Is set at a time when most hens are on the nest Their secretive habits mean very few will be observed so there is no danger of disrupting mating or nesting. items for this Necessary spring hunt will be a 1968 combination or small game license, a 83 turkey permit and shotrifle or bow gun, center-fir- e and arrow. Camofiaged clothing and a turkey call are recommended as they will improve your chances of success.
