Garrett uses every conceivable means of legitimate can persuasion to see if hecountriumph over his second selor in the Stake Presidency. The persuasion is to get said second counselor out of the print shop and on to the side of Mt. Nebo in quest of a buck. Said president thinks he is getting closer to the accomplishment of his objective, but the only way hell ever get his second counselor on the trail of a deer is to get a new second car-by-c- ar Ros-co- counselor. Seems as though in the days when I was growing up, no one ever said Roy, lets go hunting! Perhaps it would not have made much difference but the chances would have been greater then, than now when the desires to romp in the level areas no longer appeal, to say nothing of the climbing around the ledges and trails of Nebo. Well get you a horse . . I can just hear the answer come loud and strong from President Garrett, with the number one counselor adding his convincing bit Itll do you good! Anyway, as another deer season has 'been approaching in recent weeks, the pressure has been on . . and I wouldnt even be surprised at a phone call at 3 am. Saturday with Are you ready as a last minute urge. Deer hunting is for those who enjoy it! Whether or not Id enjoy it Til never find out. Id enjoy shooting the deer with a camera loaded with color film, but as far as the rest of it is concerned its not for me! We wish all the hunters lots of luck and enjoyment . . remember, our course, that the timber is tinder dry, and the grass has been heavy because of the storms of last spring and do your part to prevent fires on the range or on the forest We hope each of you bags the deer you want. reg This is national newspaper week . . when the eyes of the nation should be focused on the value of the American newspaper in preservation of life, liberty, and the American way. country will be praising them A few weeks ago a Nephi Modern Building Nears Opening Ultra modem describes the vocational arts building at the Juab High School. The building, which is in the finishing stages, is equipped with many of the newest methods and facilities that are part of this electronic age. The new Arrests Await Violators of Fire Ordinance Arrest tickets await residents of Nephi who persist in following the Nephi City Fire De- partment trucks, and parking within an area adjacent to the fires so as to hamper the work of the department members, Fire Chief Miles A. Anderson stated Wednesday. Mr. Anderson stated that in several instances recently cars have been parked within the area where the department members have to work, and the effectiveness of the department has been hampered. Mr. Anderson pointed out that Fire Department members have the full police power to issue citations, and unless the situation is improved immediately, citations will be issued. Members of the department serve on a voluntary basis, and drop their work of recreation or get out of bed at any hour of the night to answer the call to service. It is only a mild request that they be not hampered in their fire fighting activities. Remember Mr. Anderson pointed out, if it were your home on fire, you would not want anyone to get in the way of the fire fighters!
