Birds by the Acre in Utah 1 One of the most unusual spots on earth encompasses more than 64,000 acres of marshland just west of Brigham City. Its the Bear Raver Migratory Bird Refuge the greatest game bird sanctuary in the world. Maintained by the U.S. Biological Survey, the refuge plays host each year to millions of migratory waterfowl. At the height of the season an estimated four to five million wild ducks feed here; an average of 10,000 snow geese; 2,500 Canadian honkers and 2,000 to 2,500 whistling swans. More than 200 species of migratory birds, some considered rare elsewhere, can be seen here. Every year thousands of visitors drive along the refuge dikes to view this unique phenomenon. Its a must see in colorful Utah. Another thing visitors, as well as citizens, appreciate throughout the state is the knowledge that wherever they enjoy refreshing beer or ale . . . the light, bright beverages of moderation, the constant vigilance of the United States Brewers Foundation assures them of clean, wholesome Group 17-2- 1 FOR MEN - All y New! For 1961 each individual farms planted acreage will be regarded as its acreage allotment. This action has been taken by the U. S. Department of Mr. Worthington Agriculture, said, on the basis of a decision that sugar beets should be produced in 1961 up to the full capacity of the available processing plants. It is estimated that factory capacity will limit the increase in production next year to about 10 per cent above 1960s figure. The decision was based on the estimated year-en- d supply of beet sugar, the need for subte stantial stocks of sugar to orderly marketing in 1961 and future years, the processing capacity available and upon recommendations received from producers and processors at a recent public hearing on the question.
