The books were generously donated by Mr. and Mrs. Jack Berwick of Nephi. Most of the books are from the lists of best sellers of the past few years. A few of the books received are: Steamboat Gothic and The Royal Box by Frances Parkinson Keys; Daughter of Eve a story of Pocahontas by Noel B. Gerson, who takes the bare lines from a history book and makes a full rich story out of a legendary figure of the past; Caravan To Xanadu, a novel about Marco Polo, written by Edison Marshall and listed as his finest novel. Others in the collection include: The Velvet Doublet, by James Street a novel of Columbus The Dreamer who built a bridge to the new world; North from Rome by Helen Maclnnes; Blue Hurricane by How F. Van Wyck Mason; Green Was My Valley by Richard Llewellyn; Eugenie, Empress of the French by Catherine Gavin; and many others. Also recently received were 47 books from the Ladies Literary Club members. Some of the books were: Mary Anne by Daphne DuMaurier; The Street Called Straight by Basil King; Daybreak by Frank G. Slaughter. Mr. and Mrs. Orin Neilsen and son Craig of Sunset and Mrs. Reva Ballow and two sons of North Logan spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Roy Chase. Week end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Bailey were their son in law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Merlyn Burraston and baby of Salt Lake City. Mrs. R. H. Gardner of Levan is spending the winter at the home of her son in law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Bailey. Mr. and Mrs. L. Eugene Beck accompanied their son, to Salt Lake City Michael, where he entered the mission home. They also were weekend visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Dean L. Freeman and family and Mr. and Mrs. L. Eugene Beck and family in Salt Lake City.
