Myers was arrested at a fraternity house after he had called at the undertaking establishment where the girl's body lay. and had talked to Ooroner James Murphy. The girl's friends had told police . the recently had been In company with a man of Myers' general scrlption. Fraternity brothers of Myers verified his statement that he had been ' at their fraternity house all night cept fox a brief time to mall some letters. He denied having frequently seen Miss Hix recently and added that a warm friendship with her had V cooled two years ago. Arrested Man Tells ?. . : i Story of Evening. Dr. Snook was practicing at the rifle range when arrested. He had a bandage on his left hand and told police he had been hurt while repairing his automobile. His story was that he had been in his office Thursday evening between 7 and 8 o'clock, the approximate time Miss Hix had gone to the university hospital to make arrangements for summer work at a telephone switchboard to help her through medical school. Before she left she said she . had to keep a date and would be back at 9 o'clock, according to Miss Bertha Dillon, the girl she was to succeed. That was the last Miss Htx was seen until her body was found. The girl's head bore marks of what are believed to have been blows from 'a hammer, and cuts from some sharp weapon. The body lay in the undertaking establishment awaiting arrival of her parents from Bradenton, Fla. Palmer, who has lust returned from Denver, where one load of a two-cshipment of pool lambs was sold. The second car was forwarded to Omaha. Many clipped fed lambs are being marketed and the packers are buying cents. Palmer them freely at 11 says. Native lambs from the corn belt and from Tennessee are also coming to market in greater quantity than usual, he states, which is a factor that bears the market. California lambs are also still coming in to compete with the Idaho product. Market quotations should be studied with care, say Palmer, and It should be borne in mind that top quotations as published in the reports are generally of Isolated sales of fancy lambs from the best consignments. It is recommended, he says, that only standard quality lambs be shipped from Idaho at pres ent and that after careful sorting those under standard be kept at home for later shipments. ar MURRAY. Friday night unveiled and dedicated a monument of Utah granite, surmounted by a flagpole, at Sixtieth South street and Highland drive. Virtually every family of Cottonwood had contributed to the monument. In which was placed and sealed a brass box containing a history of the community, important topics of current Interest, graphs of members of the troop with their signatures on linen parchment, and copies of the Salt Lake daily , newspapers.
