Staff photo Students help raise more than $2,000 for tsunami relief The old adage big things come in small packages certainly rings true at Monticello In the eight school days between January 10 and 21, the student body gave $1,014.28 in change to send to those effected by the SE Asia Tsunami. Story after story speaks for the big hearts and concern of some small people. Several Elementary. The American Dental Association set up a matching fund for ADA members to donate to the Tsunami Relief Fund. San Juan Dental donated the money on behalf of MES. The grand total that was unselfishly and lovingly raised by the children was $2,028.56. Thats no small change! Katie Boyle and Bailey Goodwine spearheaded the fundraising project. They thank Zions Bank for helping them count all of the change. San Juan County eligible for USDA Emergency Loans Effective February 1, Kane and Washington counties in Utah were declared a major disaster area where eligible family farmers may qualify for Farm Service Agency (FSA) Emergency (EM) loans due to losses caused by severe storms and flooding.
