The Daltons, Tracys and Forrests traveled to Blanding to attend the blessing of Mary Lou Hoggard Megan lyier, the daughter of Preston and Tara Grover. AtWith the arrival of tending the family gathering Valentines Day, Cupid must at the home of grandparents be working overtime. After 46 years and seven children, he is still my handsome cowboy! Kristy Gardner visited with friends while enroute from Scotland to New Zealand, where she plans to seek employment. In 1987, she was an exchange student and lived with the Ed and Julie Wood family. Her friendship with Ed and Julies daughter Kimm developed while they were in their senior year of school. It has continued, along with other members of the Wood family. A dinner was held at the home of Russ and Doris Black to celebrate Russs birthday. Daughter Verna and Jeff Askwig and family of Salt Lake City and son Von and Carrie and baby enjoyed the family togetherness on this special occasion. The Askwigs also attended the blessing of Carson Max Tracy in Monticello Third LDS Ward. A large family gathering attended the blessing of Carson by his father, Charlie Tracy. A family dinner was held at the home of grandparents Guy and Ginger Tracy. Family members from near and far included grandparents Rondo and Mary Erickson of Clearfield, Utah and Great enjoyed by all. Whit Whittaker was admitted to St. Marys Hospital in Grand Junction for surgery to clear up medical problems he has suffered recently. He is in room 360. Punki and Mike LaGiglia welcomed with open arms daughter P.J. and Richie Maughan and family during a recent visit in the area. P.J. visited with her father, Jerry Bennett, while Richie took care of some business in Farmington, NM. Funeral services were held in Salt Lake City for Ellen Lion Haycock. Ellen spent her youth in Snowflake, AZ and after her marriage established a home in the Salt Lake City area. She is a sister of the late Seraphine Frost and Mons Smith of Monticello. Relatives attending the funeral from this area were Howard Randall, Harry Randall, John and Pearl Lewis, Melvin and Maxine Frost, Alfred and Maxine Frost, and Richard and Mack Smith. Nephews Alma, Silas and niece Elma Smith joined their brothers, Richard and Mack. It was good to see Richard Coleman in town taking care of business and visiting from his home in Provo. Joyce is settling right into her new job and life is almost hunky-doreBrayvon Hatathely passed y. away in the Primary Childrens Hospital in Salt Lake City. He is the son of Emerson and Loretta Hatathely and has suffered from heart com- plications since his birth at Shiprock, NM 14 years ago. Funeral services were held at the Monticello North LDS Chapel and burial was in the city cemetery. Dinner was served afterwards by the Fourth Ward Relief Society and Native, American friends of the family. The Snow College basketball team guard line has been given a lot of credit for the Badgers success this season. So far, they have won 23 and lost one. Insiders say that the play of Monticello native Chad Tracey in the middle is what eventually will determine how far the Badgers go. Chad is a 69 sophomore and can be a menace in the paint for Snows opponents. The Senior Citizens will entertain the Blanding Senior Citizens at a Valentines party on Friday, February 12. Hope to see you all there.
