Show Natural Bridges management plan final THE SAN JUAN RECORD Wednesday July 30, 1997 - Page 8 Golf tournament this weekend The 34th annual San Juan Amateur Golf Tournament will be held this weekend, August 2 and 3, at the Blue Mountain Meadows Golf Course in Monticello. Golfers from throughout the Four Corners converge on the course to enjoy tough competition and beautiful cool weather. Entry deadline for the an- nual tournament is Friday, August 1. To register, or for more information, call the golf course at 801-587-24- Steve Chaney, Superintendent of Natural Bridges National Monument, recently announced that the 1997 General Management Plan has been signed by Regional Director John Cook. The plan is the product of a three year planning process. Natural Bridges National Monument will be managed as a natural area, emphasizing geological and archeological resources of the park. Cooperative planning with other land management Lawrence ROUND THE REGION WRIGHT Federal warrant at Price Hospital resident Long-tim- e of Blanding, Lawrence Wright, died in his home of natural causes on Friday, July 18, 1997. Funeral services were held July 21 followed by burial in the Blanding Cemetery. Lawrence wras born October 13, 1905, on a ranch in Canyon, near McElmo Cortez, Colorado, to Lois El-no- ra Black and Samuel Franklin Wright. The family moved to Blanding in 1915. Lawrence married Lucille Palmer on August 25, 1926, in the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y He Saints. worked as a mechanic for many years in Blanding. Lawrence was an active member of the LDS Church and served in many capacities throughout his lifetime. He will be remembered for his many kindnesses to fam- ily, friends and even strangers and for his great capacity to love. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Lucille, five children, LaVae (Lyman) Redd of Blanding; LaMar (Hyra) Wright, of Logan, Utah; Mildred (Jack) Seitz, of Vernal, Utah; Melvin (Linda) Wright of Blanding; and Beverly Ann (Ralph) Day, of South Jordan, Utah; a brother, Frank Wright of Blanding; three sisters, Elnora Nielson of Blanding; Ila Rowley of Meadow, Utah; and Carlie Breinholt of Salt Lake City, Utah; 20 grandchildren, and 61 great-grandchildre- n.
