She received the award at the annual Blanding Chamber of Commerce banquet January 14. Bruce Black, proprietor of Canyonlands Tire and American Car Care Center, was named businessman of the year at the banquet. Rick Shelby was announced as president of the Chamber for 1995. The banquet was held at the Nations of the Four Corners Pavilion in Blan- ding. Bayles and her family are some of the early settlers of Blanding. She was born in a pioneer home in Bluff and moved with her family to Blanding soon after the town was settled.
