Show THE SAN JUAN RECORD Wednesday January 20, 1992 Page 10 Broncos sweep road trip now by Neil Joslin After giving themselves an early Christmas present by beating Kanab December 22, the San Juan Broncos started 1993 by beating North Sevier and Millard on the road. Since the December 12 loss at Kanab the Broncos have won four straight and have a mark going into the second weekend of the new year. Shane Singer and Travis Black combined for 39 points against Kanab before the Christmas break in Blanding. Black hit 13 of his 18 points in the first half, while Singer knocked down 16 of his 21 in the second half to lead the Broncos to a 0 win. 6-- 2 73-7- deadlock at the end of regulation play. The Autumn Open -- Hurricane, Utah - November 7, 1992, (handicap tournament): Shirley won 5 and one half and lost 3 and one half games with an average 54.1 percent, finishing in seventh place. JJ won 5 and lost 4 games, with an average 39.1 percent finishing in 9th )place. The Last of the West Beatty, NV - November 21 and 22, 1992: Shirley pitched in Class A winning 7 and losing 0, with a 53.9 percent, giving Shirley first place. JJ pitched in Class A, winning 5 and losing 2 with an average 41.7 percent, placing in third place. The St. George Open - -- St. George, Utah - November 28, 1992: Shirley pitched in Class A winning 3 and losing 1 for 60.5 percent giving her second place win. JJ pitched in Class A, winning 0 and losing 4 for 37.5 percent for fourth place. The Holiday Open Mesa, AZ - December 12, 1992. Shirley pitched in Class A winning 2 and losing 3 for 53 percent and 4th place. JJ pitched in Class B winning 5 and losing 1 for 47 percent. He won the pitchoff game and placed -- first. The Mesa Tournament ended the 1992 season for the Steffens. JJ pitched in 36 and Shirley tournaments 25 in pitched tournaments in 1992. Their next tournament is in Tucson, AZ, on January 3 to start the new year. The Steffens are now at the Val Vista Winter Village RV Resort in Casa Grande, AZ. There is a tournament every Friday in this park. Due to leakage problems, the reservoir will be drained. The reservoir had 25-2- special regulations, however due to the problem the following regulations apply. The general regulations apply.
