They will he further honored at a reception on Saturday, May 9, from 7 until 9 in the evening at the Blanding Branch of the San Juan County Public Library. Friends are cordially invited. Beckie graduated from Layton High School in 1986, and attended Weber State University. She served an LDS mission (Spanish speaking) in the California Anaheim Mission. She is attending WSU, and is employed at Desarose Greenhouse in Layton. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Herman C. Blamires and Olene Whitaker, all of Kaysvile, Utah. Tom graduated from San Juan High School in 1988. He served an LDS mission (Spanish speaking) in the California Anaheim Mission. He is enrolled at Utah Valley Community College in Orem, and is employed with Swains John Deere in His grandparents are Mrs. Norma Austin of Blanding, Charles Austin of Hutchison, Kansas, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert 0. Behrendt of Minneapolis, Kansas. His are Mr. and Mrs. Tom Bradbury and Mrs. Mildred Austin, of all Minneapolis, Springville, great-grandparen- Utah. ts Kansas. will make their home in Springville. The couple Kindergarten registration at BES and Pre-registrati- ori- entation for children who will be attending kindergarten this fall at Blanding Elementary School will be held on Friday, May 8, beginning at 1:30 p.m. in the room. While parents complete the registration process, the children will visit with teachers in the classrooms. A child must be age 5 on or before September 1, 1992, to enroll in kindergarten this multi-purpos- e Parents should bring the childs birth certificate, census card, or blessing fall. If your child now attending kindergarten has not had hisher second MMR, now is the time to get it. If you wait until the child is in the first grade, you will pay more than nine times the fee. Child abuse prevention seminar Apr. 30 April has been designated Child Abuse Prevention Month in Utah and a local seminar has been scheduled by the San Juan County Child Ab use Prevention Committee and San Juan County Extension Service. The seminar is designed to help people understand the kinds of abuse, the prevention of abuse, how to correct existing problems, and how1 to strengthen families. Mrs. Scotti Davis, state CAP director, and Glen Jenson, Utah State University, will present the program and lead the discussion. The seminar is scheduled for 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, at San Juan High School. The public is encouraged attend the seminar and support the prevention of child abuse. to Ao Ta'ala Pauga and Karen Howe Temple wedding and Mrs. Leonard Mr. Riley Howe of Monticello, Utah, are pleased to announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Karen, to Ao Ta'ala Pauga, son of Mr. and Mrs. Olesa of Laulii, Western Samoa, on April 24, 1992, in the Manti Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-daSaints. Karen attended school in 9 in Monticello through most of the grades, but graduated from Whitehorse served an LDS mission in Rome, Italy. Ao graduated from high school in 1983 in Laulii, and served an LDS mission in American Samoa and New Zealand. He is attending majoring in business. The couple will make their home in Hawaii where Ao will continue his studies and Karen will be employed at Straub Hospital as a continuing care planner in the Social Service Department.
