Truck slides off road A truck driver found himself going downhill trying to go uphill last week. Lester Wayne Roberts, 30, of Ringling, Oklahoma, told Trooper Don Kilgrow he was traveling south on Highway 191 when his engine stalled near the bottom of Peters Hill. When he set the brakes, the truck started to slide back wards. Roberts was pulling a drop-dec- k trailer, the frame of which broke when the truck slid partially off the road. It took Devons Wrecker Service from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. to repaove the truck. Smaller autos were able to edge around the 1981 Kenworth, but 20 to s 30 were backed up before the road was semi-truck- d. San Juan Deputy Steve IMMIIILIL ww Stovall and Officer Brett Palmer of the Monticello Police Department assisted in traffic control. The truck was leased e from Motor Transit of Morton, Illinois. The accident occurred following a storm that dumped over 24 inches of snow in the Monticello area. Tri-Stat- Advertising Pays ; |
