She married Chris FLOYD NEWPORT Floyd Newport, resident of Mexican Hat since 1957, was killed on Saturday, March 16, in a single car accident on Highway 163 near White Mesa, The other passenger in the car, his wife, Fern, was given emergency treatment in Blanding and then transported to Monticello Hospital where she remains in stable but serious condition. Floyd was born in Buffalo, Kansas, October 9, 1911. He served in the Army European theatre during World War II from January 16, 1941 to November 13, 1945 when he was honorably discharged with a Tech. Sergeant rating. He married Fern Saunier Lehi in 1954 and they had five sons and one daughter. She had a son, Stanley, when they were married. Linda disappeared on October 27, 1984 and an extensive search for her was made but it was not until March 16, 1985 that her body was found. Funeral services were conducted in the North Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints in Blanding, Utah on March 21 with White Mesa Branch President Bruce Shumway conducting. Burial was in the Blanding City Cemetery. She disappeared on October 27, 1984 and was found dead on March 16, 1985. Lindas mother died when she er and her four sisters and were young. Her grandmother May helped raise the family. Linda loved pets, dogs especially, and had several as pets. As she grew older, Linda in Ignacio, school attended half-broth- Colorado. She learned the art of basket making using squaw bush and did very nice work. She also did bead work with small seed beads and made beaded cradle boards for her babies. She made beaded necklaces, earrings, hat bands and watch charms. She enlisted in the Air Force where she met and married Wayne Ball on July 30, 1970. They have two daughters, Carrie Ann and Lori Lee. Nancy and Wayne lived in Green River, Utah for ten years. She served as an emergency medical technician for over five of the last few years they were in Green River. She was very dedicated in this work. Her work in the Air Force was also as a medical technician. Funeral services were held in Fruita, Colorado at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints Chapel on March 18, 1985. Burial was at Elm wood Cemetery in Fruita.
