Investigation of boating fatalities complete John 0. Superintendent Lancaster of Glen Canyon Na- tional Recreation Areaannounced that the U. S. Coast Guard and the National Park Service have completed their joint investigation of a fatal boating accident which occurred July 22 on Lake Powell. The nighttime collision, between an empty 51 foot fuel tanker and a small fiberglass runabout, resulted in the sinking of the smaller boat and the presumed loss of the two people aboard, Dennis G. Walters, 26, and Tina L. Steward, 22, both Del E.Webb employees at Dangling Rope Marina. Neither body has been recovered yet. National Park Service and the U. S. Coast Guard, after extensive investigation, havent been able to conclusively determine if the two occupants of the small boat were aboard at the time of the collision, or if they were thrown out of the craft earlier, with the boat continuing under its own power until it hit the tankers bow.
